Mass effect 1 is the best game i've ever played, it was the first rpg I had played so maybe that's why,
It's almost too immersive, I would sit down pop in mass effect and I was away, a fire could have happened and I wouldn't have known, the universe is so well realised, and the intricacies behind the relations of all the races is so in depth, the codex is filled with tons of information regarding places, races and events, and there is even a secondary category which catalogs things to a ridiculous detail, for example you can read how faster than light travel is possible due to the ftl core and all these technical issues that most games wouldn't bother with, sure, the combat wasn't that great but the universe was leaving and breathing in a way I've not seen since.
I feel towards mass effect 2 the way I do towards the godfather 2, I know that it's technically better, but I prefer the first, the action was better, the immersion was again top notch, the pacing was better, still one of my favorites but not as good as 1
Then mass effect 3 comes along, pulls its trousers down, and shit's all over the series, even before you get to the final 10 mins it's great but it's not the same, and day 1 dlc that's integral to the story, forced multiplayer, but the multiplayer doesn't matter because it really has no affect on the ending, nothing you did in the previous games does, despite them saying your choices mattered, you get 70 plus hours ( and that's just one walkthrough) of built then at the end you get a 10 min info dump explaining everything then giving you an abc choice of slight variations in an ending.
Massive plot holes ( we machines, are destroying you so you don't get destroyedby the machines you will iinevitably create)
It lead you to believe that ( spoiler) if you played multiplayer it would increase the galactic readiness and therefore improve you're chances of defeating the reapers
Honestly, the me3 ending turned me into a grumpy prick for weeks, I had another 2 Shepard I'd taken through the first 2 to see the different endings :/
Yeah, I think it should be a completely different experience, I don't think you should have your own ship etc I want it to have a different feel,
Maybe a Dragon age type race selection option, or play as an asari and the story could take place over thousands of Years.
The first contact war could be good
* sigh *
I even know the date, 2157, I'm such a mass effect fanboy
I don't know. When it comes to video games with different races I am a bit of a human supremacist. Lol.
I can't play games where I'm not human, no idea why, just can't. What would be good is if you get to choose your own race aswell as customizing the character.
Would be cool to play as a character in the Mass Effect universe that is somewhat of a criminal, if that makes sense, or a bounty hunter, or so on.
What game series is best??

So many plot holes and loose ends.
Ends inner geek rant
Sorry, I just re-finished mass effect 3

Oh, I see. I've played the game. I did like it, but it did pale in comparison to the other games.
Ending was just. Ugh. Did you hear about there being a Mass Effect 4 (Don't play as Shepard)?
