What does this text conversation mean, between me and a friend?

Everything going okay?

No.

Why?

None of your business.

Fairly obvious I would've thought: something's wrong but it's none of your business

The "none of your business" part, tells me they are pissed, at YOU, for whatever reason(s). If they weren't happy about something else, a friend would say "I'll tell ya later" or "I don't wanna say".

Of course, Posters OFTEN leave (telling) details out of their posts.

WHY did you ask your friend: " Everything going okay? " Did you have a suspicion that something was wrong? Had you previously pissed them off ?

  • Something's wrong and they don't feel like talking about it, at least, not at this time.

If the person answered "Yes", would you follow up by asking why?

    I don't even know.

This text conversation reminds me of when someone gets mad at another person, but doesn't say why they are angry, but instead says, something like, "if you don't know I'm not going to tell you". For the most part I hate it when people say that!
