What does this expression mean?

"Where dust goes to die"

I read this: "I lived in Utah for one year. The people are lovely but it's where dust goes to die." What does it mean?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Sounds like the place has little to no traffic and barely anything interesting to do. To put it simply, the sentence is saying Utah is boring.
