  • Valentine's Day is a corporate conspiracy designed to fill the festive-product demand gap between New Years and Easter. It plays off of women's primal desires for a man to woo her and provide for her materialistic pleasures. Corporations have used that to market their overpriced boxes of chocolates and peices of jewelry that, in and of themselves, are nothing more than "pretty" to look at and serve no real purpose. Any douchefuck can buy a woman a diamond ring, and any dumb broad can fall for such a primitive ploy disguised as an insinuation of romance.

It is the antithesis of the "equality" that modern women constantly bitch about. Note the aggresive advertising towards MEN to do for their women. But I did not see any commercials encouraging ME to do something for my man for Valentine's Day, like cook him a nice dinner or take him out. Valentine's Day promotes the notion that wooing and courtship in a healthy relationship can only be a one-way, man to woman only street.

Fuck them for creating more consumer demand.

    • Yes, I'm a woman and they should create a holiday so the women have to do something for the man. lol. Just saying. It would truely be more equal then.

If I had a boyfriend I would just tell him to not buy me anything unless he really wanted to. It's just like any other day.

      • I don't think there should have to be a holiday for it, I just think that my husband and I should do thing for eachother because we love eachother. I enjoy showing him that I am happy that he is here with me, and he does the same. Doing something nice for my loved one because the media tells me that is it the most socially acceptable to do it on that particular day just doesn't count as much for me.
