What do you think of this guys reaction to mobile use during meetings?

There is this business guy we have here and when he is holding a meeting he will call the meeting off, walk out and tell the people to let him know when they have time for the meeting if they use their mobiles during his meeting.

He sees it as rude and he lets them know it. What do you think?

It is not rude. He is wrong and over the top. 0

While they are being rude for using their phones during a meeting, why can't he just tell them to get off their phones? I'd understand if he left after they didn't listen, but leaving before trying to get them to makes him look bad too. Also, why isn't there some sort of policy/punishment for the people who use their phones during meetings? If there was, they wouldn't be doing it.

Acting like a passive aggressive bitch isn't the right move. He'd have a more more dominant and professional presence by just asking you to get off your phones.

Quite right. It's extremely rude to even leave your mobile phone switched on in a meeting.

He's over the top but mobile use is really rude.

It is common sense to not use your phone during meetings. BUT, he also seems like a tight wad.
