We were actually looking at claims and waiting for courts decide whether or not their claims of asylum were valid, but that takes time. Not everyone in those are families or even good people.
It's stupid to claim that the police were using tear gas on families because that is not what police see. The way police see it is that there was a group of people acting violently trying to cross the border illegally and to protect themselves rather than directly deal with that threat they decided to use tear gas as a deterrent.
