What we are doing is messed up. The mainstream media doesn’t show what led up to them throwing rocks. Only that it’s the scary brown people who are mostly families with kids. How do we respond? Tear gas bombs. I guess the give me your tired, your hungry, your poor rule doesn’t include brown people. Would you want to go to Mexico. Or would you want to go to a county that claims to be so free. And so caring about other countries and people. It’s gone now. For the record what they did was legal before the rock throwing. And I completely disagree with them doing that. All it did was hurt their side. Now the mainstream media gets to say. See we told you those brown people were bad. We can’t let these savages in our great and good nation. Now let’s all jerk off to the families trying in vain to protect their kids from the gas. Aren’t we such good people?
We let in over 1 million immigrants each year and close to 50,000 refugees each year. The majority of immigrants let into the country are Mexican. We are not against "brown people" coming to this country legally. We were evaluating the cases of those people, but they decided they couldn't wait and so instead they rushed the border. The police their do not have the man power to deal with that many potentially violent people directly so it's better to use a deterrent, like tear gas, to get people away rather than by physical means which could put the officers in harms way.
Except for Fox the msm is pretty pro illegals and caravan sympathetic. In all honesty the term "caravan" implies there are newfound hordes of illegals suddenly attepmting to cross the border. This has been happening forever. I'm pretty sure it comes from Trump's team as justification for a wall.
Seriously though, no self respecting country can sustain itself if masses of non vetted people flood their borders. I'm all for mass LEGAL immigration, after all that is what made the U.S. great to begin with. A country that has infrastucture problems, a looming social security age gap time bomb, terrible health and very expensive healthcare doesnt need a bunch of potentially shitty people further clogging the shit hole.
Brown this, brown that. Attributing the caution that the USA has about free migration through the border to skin color just sounds like a scapegoat.
Migrants need to be screened, especially those that come from impoverished, crime-ridden, or war-torn areas. Unfortunately, that's a slow and careful process, and not everyone may pass.
They have to respect our laws and process, and we can't allow chaos to be sowed inside the country.
If they behave violently and forcefully at the border, who's to say that they won't continue those behaviors once inside the country, if they deem it necessary?
We don't know these people. Some can be decent, some can be bad. Looking at certain European countries, it's apparent that concerns about migrants aren't unfounded.

It is an actual caravan. There were a few thousand people marching up from Honduras to get to the US. Using the word caravan is no overstatement.
