Suicide is brought on by a lack of human connection. When someone is very sick, homeless, mentally ill, etc. they struggle harder than the rest of us to establish a connection. It is indeed the responsibility of friends and family to ask the simple question "How are you feeling today?.. No, really- How are you feeling?" "How can I let you know that you're not just my friend, but I'm yours as well?" When you're void of attachment, those problems aren't temporary and they don't just go away upon human contact; you have to -feel- like someone actually loves you. If that's selfish then we are all guilty, selfish pricks.
What do you think of people who commit suicide?
