    I have to listen to them because one of my housemate's taste consists of:
    A) Teen Pop Punk
    B) Reggae
    C) The cheesiest pop songs

    The same 20 odd songs on rotation every day.

    So from my experience of One Direction, they are harmless, albeit vapid, pop music for girls. I would never listen to them for enjoyment.
