What do you think of colin kaepernick and the nike ad campain

Just your opinion of the whole thing.

I'm thinking this: kaepernick has every right to exercise his right of freedom of speech and expression, but I just wish he would choose a way of doing it that is more respectful of the men and women who fought and died for what that flag represents. Many black people died on wars while serving our country and I'd bet that they would say the same.

There's not much to say about nike, as they are obviously trying to capitalize on the controversy around kaepernick and the NFL. Almost every company would do this. No surprise here.

I'm neutral on both the kaepernick issue and Nike I mainly find it funny how some people are mad about it. It's what Nike wants to do this is America not North Korea keep big government out of the private sector. Also if I'm right didn't people die so kaepernick could do what he is doing it's werid how some people talk about sacrifice then get mad when people actually do the thing that people died for.

You took the words right from my mouth. People are hypocrites. People be like “Yes we have freedom of speech! America is great!” but those are the same people who get triggered by anything.

So he got famous by doing what blacks do best - being disrespectful. Of course he is getting praise for this BS.

It makes you wonder just what it will take for white America to fight back.

What I wonder though is when Nike is going to have an ad campaign showing the sweat shops where their products are made.

what blacks do best and you wonder why blacks wont stop acting like their opinion's don't matter wont make them stop. the more people like you push blacks will push right back. who cares if Colin did what he did and why he did it and nike can do whatever it wants so again unless your a nike ceo it doesn't really matter. would you rather blacks riot because taking a knee isn't hurting anyone and Id rather have that then riots.

I'm not an US citizen. Nike is just a company aiming at maximising profit and it doesn't surprise me that it has commodified this movement by hiring Kaepernick as the main character of the campaign. Channel did the same with the famous phrase of Chimamanda "We should all be feminist."

When I read on the internet about americans claiming that by taking the knee Kaepernick is disrespecting all those soldiers who fought for the country etc etc.. I'm a little bit shocked. When did the USA showed respect for its black population? When?

I’m not defending him but correct me if I’m wrong, tons of veterans died fighting for rights like freedom of speech. They died so we could say what we want. I don’t know what he said, but if you’re going to say “they died fighting for the flag” or whatever, you have to remember that they also died fighting to protect our basic rights i.e., freedom of speech. That’s just my two cents, not that it matters.

  • Honestly couldn't care less about the whole ordeal, but the point was to raise attention and he did so. So good job, I guess?
