I don't think anything happens to a person when they die. They just cease to exist.
Hell exists only to the people who believe in it. Don't be afraid of going to an imaginary prison, which was originally conceived to control and scare people into following their religious ideologies
I'd like to think we all go somewhere when we die but then reality slaps me in the face and says 'bitch, get yo shit together and stop thinking about death and focus on the life you have'.
I find it staggering how so many people literally believe that God, in his infinite wisdom and benevolence, will literally torture you forever if you don't love him.
Well according to the Bible Satan will be cast down to hell on it's appointed time for ever, so this make us think that souls also stays there forever but well, ONLY God knows,
i guess they will be punished and then maybe God will give them a second chance to be born again on Earth or something else IDK, since Jesus said: Matthew 5:26 Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny,
Also note that Jesus said that only God can destroy souls in hell so we know that God can destroy a soul (consciousness) in hell, he can destroy the whole consciousness of a person in hell,
But again I say only God knows. there will be many surprises, ppl who thought they were saved won't be saved and ppl who thought they were a shame for God might enter to heaven.
I think hell would have to be personalized. Unique to each individual. I think my hell would be true sensory deprivation. Just you and your mind, for ohh say a thousand years. I'm sure I would be quite insane by that point. But I also believe the only one who can send you to such a place would be yourself.

I can't imagine a father that would torture his kid for ever for not following his rules.

It presupposes the existence of a soul that goes on after brain death and there's no evidence that this can happen.
There is also no evidence that it does not happen. Like many things it remains a mystery.
No but the burden of proof lies with the one making a positive assertion that something exists and gives detailed descriptions even of what it's like and why you are there. (a hot place where you burn for your sins) how do they know? Because their [fill in 'holy' book] told them so.
This reminds me of something I read once. I probably will not get it word for word but here it goes.

Why is it so hard for people to just understand that there is no proof of these things...
because the church uses the hell thing as a gimmick to rip people off.People should be good because its the right thing to do, not because they are scared.
I'm Jewish so we believe that there is only heaven but there is a good heaven and a bad heaven. Nobody will ever know for sure what goes on in the bad heaven until you go there. It's one of those things that you know is bad but you want to know what it's like but the only way to find out is to experience it. So, we know it's not fun so I would suggest being good to god so you end up in the good heaven don't have to think about it.
There us no hell. That was invented to scare little kids to believe in a god and to go to church.
technically no one can go to hell. Because it says God died for all sins and he loves everyone so it's impossible to go to hell. Nothing you do can get you in to hell because God forgives all apparently
From what I have read in the Bible it won't be anything less than a horrible nightmare forever. Life is short accept Jesus as your Lord and savior and you won't have to worry about where you go when you die

I used to believe that the life is one in a lot of forms, therefore, we don't go to a hell, but keep living in the rest of our forms.
But then I thought about the reality - "kill or be killed", and I realized that we are already in the hell. Simply, we kill, reproduce, kill, reproduce and so on, turning into an everlasting circle of pain and agony.
I would say it might depend on how bad they are. Hitler stays forever but like a con artist maybe stay a while and then go to heaven. Either that or maybe there is different layers of hell depending on how bad you were.
i think the lights just go out for them, i can't see a god needing to punish them, no motivation.
I'm the illumanti and if you go to hell you will stay there forever. You can come back as a demon like okiku. Demons still exist. The hooded man game is a game that you will play with a demon. Okiku from the rings is another demon that stills haunts the Earth if you watch the cursed tape.
