I know some people like saying "oh she is mature for her age" etc but... that's a bit of a copout.
hell even in the early teens, most kids aren't really prepared in body and mind - or finances - to accept the consequences of their actions. i mean if mommy and daddy are still paying the bills, then it's a bit silly to think one is "mature" enough to start enjoying adult activities.
or in a nutshell, it's easy for children to think themselves wise when someone else is shouldering the responsibility.
Well I would take that if they are smart and no how to take care of themselves but not sex. Since regardless of how smart or grown up a child is in their mine they have not become an adult until after a certien age. Also a mature child would not be having sex since kids have it because they are reckless a truly mature child would wait.
if they're not an adult until a specific age then ... it's good to hold off on trying to taste the fruits of reaching adulthood until that age is reached
Hi Angel, Your responses are a cut above the rest. But wouldn't you think there are a few 17 year olds that are capable of committed caring and sexual completeness? I wish there were a good litmus test.
However consider that many children that age aren't yet even supporting themselves financially. Yet they're suppose to be "mature" enough to engage in adult activities?
It's easy for one to claim to be "mature" when someone else is paying the bills and shouldering the responsibility.
What do you think about sex?

the local age of consent laws can be followed.
