  • Romance is a real conundrum. For me though I would like to think of it as a poison that you crave. The more you get, the better it feels, and the more it kills you in the end. The more you love someone the more it hurts when it falls through. And not loving someone enough will make it fall through all the same. There is no winning. You get how much you put in, back out in suffering.

For some though, perhaps like myself, it's a gambit worth taking. And sometimes I feel like I have no choice but to crave loving someone.

Romance isn't a tangible thing though. nor is it a single idea that someone else can call "romantic". Romance is the feeling you get when you share a connection no one else understands. It's the human element in that moment that makes is special. Not the candles, or the flowers.

Unfortunately I was blessed with a very helpless, hopeless, miserable taste in romance. The kind that doesn't even exist. The kind that makes you dream and fantasize about things that can only happen in love stories that were fabricated from perfect fiction. So I have come to view romance as a beautiful burden in my life.
