  • 1.it's a personal point of view, I'm not saying that I'll take the employer to court for that, since it's not a protected class, you're right. yet, in my opinion it shouldn't happen at all.

2.Yes, the symbolism used to be represent a criminal hierarchy and give a full report of your "achievements". This created this nagative opinion about bodyart. it is not so nowdays, yes, some kids still get tats in prisons, but it's a dying breed. Most of the "old school" tattooing is just art, nothing else. "No hate" applies ONLY when you have symbols on you that represent/used to represent hate crimes or racist/nationalist gangs.
Biker gang tattooes, for example are absolutely legal.
By the way, spiderwebs on elbows mean something else in every country i've been to. So I wouldn't really draw my conclusions on one place.. kinda close minded.

zombie boy make up was awesome, I know this video (appreciate the links, but i know what you're talking about, lol), however it was a very expensive photoshoot. Why should I spend my time on that to confirm to some obsolete and outdated social norm. it's 21st cetury, about time to review our policies on this issue as well.

    • thing is... it's not always easy to tell which were inked for hate and which were just because someone thought a gang violence tat was "cool".

we had a training presentation to watch at work and i was a bit shocked cos... i recognized a lot of tats.
