  • I'm Canadian. I feel extremely safe and accepted anywhere I have traveled within my country, and feel that the citizens here, on average are very kind and helpful. I like that our health care is free and the minimum wage in my province is 10$ an hour.

I don't like the restrictive laws that are being passed right now, such as bill C-51 that are trying to strip our citizens of their freedoms as outlined in our Charter of Rights. Menthol cigarettes and flavored tobacco are about to be banned in my province and a law is going into place on July 1st that anyone smoking near a restaurant, in a vehicle with 2 or more people in a public place, or on a walking trail will be fined 1100$.

I don't even remember the last time I smoked a cigarette and I don't agree with the tobacco industry, but they generate a lot of revenue for our province and this is just another excuse for cops to write tickets and generate extortion money.

    • What happens if there are 4 people in a car and all 4 are smoking? Do only 2 people get fined and if so which 2?

      • Honestly, no idea how this fuckery is supposed to work. I'm just as confused as you are.
