I have been homeless one year and this has been the hardest most depressing time of my entire life. I was a very sucessiful 22 year old, trying to become a swim school instructor. Due to a falling out with family and financial stress i was thrown out of my home. I bounce from place to place, sometimes sleeping in 24 hour stores like safeway. I panhandle to make ends meet and keep my cellphone on so i can find work. I mostly depend on government assistance to feed me and i use the other money i earn to stay warm and keep clean. Im constantly going through every emotion and trying to keep myself motiviated is a daily struggle. But I just keep my self in check and live day by day. I feel for other homeless people because i know being cold, hungry and worried everyday is not a fun thing. I'm 22 and i already have grey hair because i stress so much..Though i have confidince that i will get through this. You shouldnt judge a homeless person until you've known eveything the've lost and been through.
What do you do when you see a homeless person?
