I call it a carriage.. My family does too. I moved from home and now where I live people look at me weird when I say it so I've adapted to calling it a cart. It's annoying but it saves me having to explain why I say carriage..
Where'd you live where it was called a carriage? So, in NC they say buggy, but you call it 'cart', is that correct? You just dislike buggy, so you went with cart? Or what?
Yeah, I'm writing a book. Or a term paper. Well, it's really just an essay with a commemorative tattoo to be done (extra credit).
Heh, I was born in NC. Didn't ever live there as anything other than an infant though, only visited a couple times since then, so I never noticed this. I did notice they say some FUNNY things though....
I lived in Massachusetts when I called it a carriage but I honestly think most people in Mass call it cart. And I call it cart because buggy is not the rational term for it. I mean.. wtf is a buggy? :\ Haha.
Oh that's neat. This is a good place to collect data I suppose.
I was down in Florida when I first heard it called buggy. I called it a carriage and two people from Georgia and Alabama I lived with at the time just looked at me and laughed.. they said, "no, it's a BUG-GEY." I was so annoyed. -_-
What do you call a shopping cart?
