i lived in slovakia for almost my whole life and those are EVERYWHERE...i recently moved to america and was shocked to see you could just take them.
i usually dont use quarters (well in slovakia a euro or 50 cent peice) but slugs, and sometimes if you are a member of a store (like you have that card) you get a free slug with the logo on it and stuff.
just to throw this in, there are no bag boys in slovakia it is uheard of! i always used to start bagging my own stuff and someone would do it for me and it was really weird at first...it makes me think that are americans are lazy. oh and when i first saw one of those machines that give you change here, i yelled 'omg it gives you the change! how does it do that?' and the casheir was looking at me like wtf. haha
The store I'm talking about doesn't bag your things either. And they charge you for bags. You can either buy them, bring your own or you can take their throw-away boxes for free. I like that store.
i call it a cart...lots of european friends i had called it a trolley though.
in slovak we call in it a vozik but i dont know how that would translate lol sorry
oh ok so yeah...in slovak the 'mentality' is that the cart is some little vehicle...like a trolley or cart basically...a little thing on wheels. so i guess cart is the most common.
lol i never thought i would be analyzing carts this way
What do you call a shopping cart?

OK, but what do you call a cart though? Here and in Slovakia? Of course translate the Slovakian term into English, if possible, please!
