Do you think that any Ukrainian leader could have stopped Putin from invading.
NEWS FLASH: It was made public 3-6 days ago that Ukraine had negotiated a "peace" treaty with Russia that would have resolved the 2014 invasion situation permanently. When the Russian Foreign Service presented it to Putin, Putin rejected it because it did not grant Russia possession of substantial portions of Ukraine, The Ukrainian invasion occurred fairly shortly after that.
So it sounds like that Zelensky had negotiated an acceptable "peace" treaty with he Russian Foreign Service. But Putin wanted to own major portions of Ukraine.
This war has been going on for 8 years. He did not stop it he threw fuel on the fire. He signed laws banning the Russian language on the radio, tv, and music, banned russian books. EU wouldnt take Ukraine under him because its too corrupt. His government funded Nazi Azov battalion was active in the east against the Russians. Im not saying Russia was at all justified in invading but Zelensky has some role in this.
He also just turned down a peace deal down that was proposed by Russia last week where Russia would take Donbas and quit fighting.
He turned down totally one sided offers where there was no negotiation without hostilities present.
Putin's offers after Feb 24, 2022 were not and are not peace plans. They were and are surrender plans.
You should read up on international treaty law.
You might also read up on the territorial boundary basis of the UN Charter (which Russia agreed to abide by) and the terms of the at least 3 other treaties that Russia has violated with their 2014 and 2022 invasions.
What do yall think about this
