What do all the planets orbit in the Galaxy?

  • It depends what you mean. Planets orbit around their stars, but the stars themselves orbit around the gravitic centre of the Milky Way (Sagittarius). The Milky Way is only one of the galaxies in the local group, though, and the fifty-something galaxies in the local group orbit around their gravitic centre.

In short, things are rotating around things that themselves are rotating around other things. And so it goes.

      • Ahh, I was confused by the "all the planets" thing. They orbit Sol, our sun.
