I've watched hours of news footage and the only firearms I've seen were held by police. If there were any I'm sure it was only a handful among the thousands of people.
Just look it up. Not only were plenty armed but 6 different people turned out to be illegally armed at that. By far the worst was that two pipe bombs were placed. Luckily they were discovered and disarmed before they could kill anyone though.
It was far more than a handful, but yes, obviously the outright
majority wasn't carrying.
I'll take your word for it. There were 6 people illegally armed and 2 pipe bombs. One shot fired by police at an unarmed woman.

Even right-leaning Fox reported this. It's a bit harder than it should be to find good pics though because it's so overshadowed by the demonstrations 3 days after election day. Now on THAT day there actually WERE tons of armed people marching around outside vote counting facilities.
Again, I'm not saying most were armed. Out of over a thousand there was maybe 30-50, if that. All I'm saying is that SOME were carrying and more than you can count on your fingers. I'm also not talking as if they were running around pointing the things. I'm just saying they were in fact carrying. Also, again, 6 illegally so. Of the six, I don't know the exact breakdown but it wasn't all the same charge. Some had illegal weapons and some had legal weapons but which they didn't legally own.
Correct. She was shot through the neck. To be fair though, a direct witness and someone also basically rioting and on her side, said she basically just directly charged toward them menacingly right after being told this was basically a "you are about to be shot" situation.
There are also supposedly 4 other people dead but the details aren't really out on who or what killed them.
I didn't mean to imply that they ended up an issue. I was just stating that many of them were in fact armed. That said, being that at least one person intended to kill hundreds, it's not unthinkable that they were the only one with violent intentions. I'm just glad no one did fire at the police because if people were firing on police at the very White House the military almost certainly would have had to make an example of a few people.
What happened was horrible either way. 5 people lost their very lives and countless more on both sides were injured, but this very much could have been a total blood bath. Like if those pipe bombs had gone off the military might have just opened fire on anyone trespassing. Somewhat understandably, sadly.
It's horrible to say, but I think at a certain point, left or right, people have to understand you can't just bust up in the most important area of the most powerful country in the world and expect it to go over. If people tried this in either of the world's other superpowers, China and Russia, the death toll would have been insane. Honestly the US showed remarkable restraint.

I think what happened is stupid, horrific and don't approve of these peoples riotous actions. My point is that firearms weren't an issue.
