What controller do you use for pc gaming?

Is there any particular reason you use one controller over another. Do you use it because it's easier to set up or because it'd be a hassle trying to figure out how to set up a different controller? Or (if it's an old controller) because you don't see any reason to upgrade to a new controller? Or just because it's the most comfortable controller?

I can think of very few reasons to use a controller with a pc.

The Assassins Creed series in particular, or for that matter most platformers, feels more fluent with a controller.

I use a controller because my pc is too close to my bed so I hdmi it to my mounted TV instead of sitting at the desk

Surely you wouldn't play platformer games with the keyboard though would you?

I've played platformers with a keyboard. It wasn't bad at all.

Really? That sounds awkward. I can understand why people would use a mouse for shooter games, because it's more accurate, and then obviously they need to use a keyboard with their other hand since it's not like they can just use only the left half of a controller. But otherwise I've always found keyboards to be a bit awkward and uncomfortable for gaming. Plus I've always found it weird since I've always associated keyboards with boring computer work, but controllers are always associated with fun games.

The only games I really play with M&K is shooters. There's exceptions, but a controller is great to have.

The only reason I can think of besides those two is if someone has a wrist problem and can't use a mouse.

Depends on the games. Most are fine with me using my Xbox controller but I feel it's authentic with pc/mouse. Why I brought a gaming pc in the first place

I could fuck all you up with a mouse and fingers back in the unreal quake days.

  • I use keyboard and mouse for shooters, Xbox One controller for fighting games, and I'm hoping to get a HOTAS soon for my space flight sims.

The Xbox 360 controller is the most comfortable controller ever made, IMO.

Keyboard. If I want to play with a controller I use my ps4 for ps4 games.

My ps4 is for shooters and other games where its convenient to have a controller.

My pc is for building games or games where accuracy is needed.
