I don’t drink alcohol anymore, now I just drink these gay little fruit punches with fuckin’ flower petals in the ice cubes.
But before that, gotta be Beluga

I rarely ever drink but when I do I like red wine, specifically dessert wine. But I drink so little that when I buy a bottle it lasts around a month maybe more and I dont need a lot to get tipsy either...I get headaches easily so i'm careful with alcohol.

I have that problem as well if I dont drink for a while. If I go weeks or months without drinking when I do drink I feel terrible. Then the more often I drink the less I get sick. Its weird.

  • I like white russians with italian sweet cream. Peppermint schnapps and rum are good. I asked for something fruity at a bar once. I loved it, it came with a cherry

Malt liquor and bourbon, but I don't drink much anymore. I seem to be just collecting booze at this point.

Mulled wine or hot toddy (rum with lemon and honey) in winter; sangria, Pimm's and gin and tonic in summer. Hot toddy and sangria I can drink alone; the others, I prefer to drink with people.

Wine when dining with guests, cider when chilling out with friends, sherry or prosecco on special occasions.

Port to unwind of a weekend.

Baileys, brandy and amaretto with hot chocolate on a night in during holidays in winter.

    My party drink is tequila.

    Pretty much everything.

Beer on a daily basis, Rakia/ Vodka/ Ouzo with salads during the weekend and whiskey on some evenings, where I'm feeling philosophical. Again, usually in the weekends.

But when vacationing, I like a nice cocktail at the beach, or a gin and tonic, or straight up mint liquor sometimes mixed with ouzo on very hot days. Last one is called "a cloud", cause drink too much, too fast and you'll be feeling like you're in the clouds.

I can't drink white wine, cause I get horrible heartburn, tequila makes my stomach hurt/ feel weird and sparkling wines give me an insane headache, even a shot glass of the stuff will give me a headache.

Henry's hard soda orange. Closest thing to the japanese drinks that I got in japan. It's not quite the same quality but it's close enough to the nostalgia.

I drink snobby wine or hipster craft beer.

If I've had some very bad news and life looks bleak I drink gin, but that's just medicinal. I don't enjoy it.

I like to think I'm a bit of a wine ponce... What wines do you enjoy? Old world, new world, red, white.

Personally I'm a big fan of California Zinfandel and Shiraz.
French Cabernet Sauvignon and Bulgarian Merlot.

If we start a beer discussion, we'll be here all day. I love trying different beers from different countries.

Since moving to Australia I've gotten really into local wine. It's so good. I used to prefer really bold reds - mostly old vine shiraz - but now I live in a hot climate I've developed a love of chardonnay. But it must be a really decent, oaky chardonnay. I usually spend $50 on a bottle

I did recently buy some French cab sav which I really enjoyed but it was so expensive compared to the local stuff and wasn't noticeably different. That's one thing i miss about being in Europe - you have easy access to wine from so many different countries.

I don't believe I've ever tried Bulgarian wine. I'll have to give it a go. Is it mostly red?

We have white wines too, but I believe our reds are better. Rich flavored and bold. Made in a country that is one of the oldest wine makers in Europe.
          I personally recommend:
Domaine Boyar, Levent and Vila Melnik wines.
With Mavrud being the traditional Bulgarian/ Balkan red wine, but their other reds are also very good.

As you know, Bulgaria is a poor country, so we don't really have expensive wines, most good wines sell for 15-35 USD.
On the plus side, production is limited, so they are more exclusive. Levent for example produce only around 10000 bottles of red wine per year.

I watched a show called "Oz and James big wine adventure", where renowned wine critic Oz Clarke and James May of Top Gear tour France and California, showcasing and drinking wines.

It's a very entertaining show with the wine expert and a casual drinker clashing together, where one wants to talk about wine, soil, vines and history and the other wants a decent drink for under a tenner and new ways to justify getting drunk at wine tastings... The show taught me a lot about wine and got me more interested in buying quality wines, identifying bad wines and tasting the differences.

Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely try some. I'm also going to see if I can find that tv show. I like stuff like that.

I got into wine when I went on a winery holiday a few years ago. I used to think it was all snobby bullshit, but once I actually learnt a bit about wine I realised what they were talking about. I can no longer drink bad wine. It spoilt me.

I used to grab a cheap bottle from the shop on my way home, and drink it in one sitting. Now I order a few really nice bottles on pay day, and have maybe 4 or 5 glasses of it in a whole week. I appreciate the flavours and drink it slowly.

Good choice... Very rich, almost woody/ nutty flavor.
I think Jameson is a bit smoother than Chivas Regal, which has more of an initial kick with every sip.

Drank 12 year old Redbreast Jameson last summer at my parents place and it was very good.
My dad decided to splurge a bit on whiskey to celebrate a pension raise.
