What cars do you drive?

Just a poll to see what cars you guys drive... I'm a car guy, so I like a bit of rambling about cars. Any fellow petrolheads out there? If yes, have you done any mods to your car?

I don't drive. 10

I'm honestly not big on cars. I drive a 2012 Nissan Versa. I intentionally looked for a car without all the bells and whistles because I like boring and simple. XD

That's about as featureless as a car gets. It's blemish free.

It's like a gin and tonic, without the gin... But in a *really* clean glass. Probably is a reliable car tho...

Yeah, it's very reliable. As long as a car can take me from point A to point B, I'm happy.
        :)

Scoobies are fun. Drove a 2008 Impreza 2.5 in winter one time, had a blast.
Much more useful than any of my cars in winter... A fact my dad loves telling me over and over and over... XD

      • Iā€™d love a 08 sti in rally blue that year models really grown on me. And they go like a tank in snow itā€™s awesome. Itā€™s the biggest change having this compared to my past 4wd jeep and shitty fwd Suzuki that thing was the biggest pile of shit Iā€™ve ever seen. My lucks been bad up until this. Iā€™ve always been a Subie fan and still have no let downs. Shitzuki on the other hand... glad they stopped selling their shit cars in the US.

I usually build bikes out of the garbage but I also have a really spooky van. That's more of a house though.

    What I lust after,
    What I can afford.
    What insurance covers.
What speed traps I can avoid.
I love speed, but there's cops, cameras, and citizen cops everywhere.
Sad to say, my street fun days are over.
    Mustang cobra
    VW turbo
    Nissan turbo
    Honda crx
    Honda del so
    Acura integra
    Honda VFR.
I'm only legal now if I drive something that can't get me in to much trouble.

    • One of those normal bikes that have a motor? Those always looked fun. Ik itā€™s not exactly the same but I recently got a x8 super pocket bike and have been debating on making it street legal and registering it as a moped. They are pretty awesome if it was easier to lead and unload to bring places Iā€™d bring it everywhere.

      • megadriver

That would be fun... Can you actually register a minibike? I've seen people drive about in them in rural areas in Germany, but never noticed if they had a license plate...

          -
        • In the us or at least my state not sure on others but you can register bikes like these. I could say itā€™s a 50cc and the wheel diameter is already larger than 10ā€ and pass it as a moped but doesnā€™t cost barly anything to insure and you do get plates and doesnā€™t need to be inspected here. The coolest thing is with a super bike and moped you donā€™t need a motorcycles license just your normal drivers license.

Iā€™d like to get an actual crotch rocket some day but for now this fits me pretty good haha. Itā€™s hard to find a super pocket bike and although itā€™s super heavy and a pain sometimes itā€™s still worth every drive. I do want to get a small normal sized one itā€™ll be much easier to travel with even though I canā€™t do much with it.

Drove a second gen 4-door Sebring once. It was about as exciting as a barrel of custard. True, mine was the Euro-spec 2.0L 140hp one with a 4-speed auto, the V6 is probably more fun to drive, but mine took forever to get up to 100kmh

How do you not know what engine your car has? Don't you pay taxes in the US based on engine specs? I'm kinda curious.

In Bulgaria, we pay taxes based on engine size, type and performance. Thaat's why I've registered my E420 as an E320... to pay less taxes. A small bribe helps. Cause if I had to pay properly, I'd need to cough out 320 Euros a year. I only pay 130 Euros. My insurance premium is also lower, cause I drive a "dad sedan" that "hasn't been modified in any way"... Fuck feeding politicians.

You sound like the dream customer of any car salesman...
And at the other end of the spectrum there is me... You ask me what I drive, I tell you: "W211, 2007, E420 CDI, OM 629 DE40-LA, 420hp, 900Nm AMG-package, Elegance, full spec with AMG exhaust system and DPF delete."
          C-class description just as long...

Chose this one as it has the longest name... My hybrid goes along the line of: W205 C350e, AMG-trim, modded...

BMW description: Broken down project car XD

  • megadriver

I'll go first... Here is my list of pride and joy:

2005 Mercedes C220 CDI, Elegance trim, high spec. (185hp 420Nm) ECU remap, AMG front bumper, S-class taillights, Bi-xenon headlights, heated seats, new Dynavin head unit (NTG 2 broke), blacked out all windows.

2017 Mercedes C350e, black metallic, AMG package, full spec. (335hp 660Nm) ECU remap, blacked out all windows (Not much you can do to a hybrid...)

2007 E420 CDI, Elegance interior trim, metallic black, AMG package, full spec. (420hp 900Nm) ECU remap, speed limiter delete, DPF delete, AMG exhaust system, lip spoiler, blacked out all windows, probably gonna get her a Dynavin head unit, cause the NTG1 is a bit old in 2018...
Probably gonna see if I can get more power out of her... My goal is 450hp and 1000Nm... Possibly doable...

1984 BMW 635CSI, baby vomit brown (???hp ???Nm) Car doesn't run, is a work in progress... Did get the engine to start this summer, but I have a lot of work to do, before she is roadworthy... So here is a wishlist:
White paint, E28 M-wheels, engine tweaks to up the power a bit, M- lip spoiler, xenon headlights, lowering kit for a more aggressive stance, Euro bumpers (my E24 is US spec) and possibly Euro dials...

You win the offroad award. The most offroad I can go in any of my Mercedes-eses is a grassy/ gravely driveway XD

Especially with my E-class... The C-classes can handle having one wheel with no traction and pulling through, ESP works it out, cause their engines are smaller and lighter, but with the heavy 4.0L twin-turbo V8 in the E-class, no chance... That car is not gonna see any winter action. Gonna lock her up in the garage and wait until spring before taking her out. Same as all of my Mercedes-eses...

Having a company car is the best thing, cause you don't have to put any miles and strain on your own cars for those daily trips to work.

You need to get a car mate, you don't know what you are missing...

Ain't nothing better than being on a twisty road. You nail apex after apex, but then you put the car in sport more. You turn off the ESP, you put the suspension in it's harsh setting and you gun it... 420 horsepower and 900Nm are firing at the rear wheels. You get the ass out, tortured tires squeal as you go sideways through the corner. You release the throttle and quickly go back on it. Car snaps back in line and accelerates like a beast!

2002 Skoda Octavia that I've owned from new and taken good care of. 125,000 miles on the clock, and it still runs fine and has largely been trouble-free.

2007 Nissan Navara (in USA the model is called Frontier) that's been an expensive, unreliable pain in the backside virtually from the moment I drove away from the showroom, but I need a pickup sometimes, and I can't afford to replace it.

For me, cars are just a way to get from Point A to Point B. I don't give a damn what they look like as long as they run when I want them to, and don't cost an arm and a leg to keep on the road.

Asked what car you drive, not what you think about Mercedes and BMW owners...

PS: We only use our bright bi-xenon high beams to bully slow left lane hogs out of the way. We are generally courteous drivers.
