I think occurrences like this could've been prevented a long time ago if this country had put created stricter guns laws or just banned guns all together. I don't think civilians should be allowed to have access to buying military weapons and they should do background checks. But even if background checks are made the law there's still the huge chance that the weapon could be borrowed to or stolen by someone of unsound mind. I think there should be more research going into how to better treat people with mental illnesses. In a sense, all this gun violence is this country's fault for not taking a stand a lot sooner and the media worsens things by causing someone somewhere to want to top off what the last person did.
