  • It's not as good an idea as people think it is to ban guns. Guns in the hands of citizens keep wars from happening on our soil. As a matter of fact, Japanese General Yamamoto warned that "Americans all have and are trained in the use of firearms. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.", upon discussing attacking on US soil.
I think we should better regulate those who are able to have guns. We also need to take more seriously the mental state of people. This gunman was said to have told people around him that he wanted to hurt people, and in return they ignored him. Didn't anybody notice that his family didn't even have a picture of him past 13 years old? Not that this justifies these actions, but he was obviously tired of crying for help and being ignored. That doesn't make him a victim by any means- he deserves to burn, but we could prevent these things with more understanding and carefulness on our part.
