I thumbs upped you because that is a fair point. But the point I'm attempting to make with my comment is that regardless of whether or not he has a gun he wanted to harm a bunch of children, and he succeeded.
A bunch of those kids are still in the ICU and still MIGHT die. A lot of those people are still living in very real fear that they might never get over, and it might not be the same degree of fear, (or it might!) but it's a very similar kind of fear to the kind that the folks in Connecticut now live with.
Maybe we should stop caring about which weapon he has and start caring about why he wanted to hurt them?
I am very happy that none of those poor kids are dead, though.
