4, two each ear don't need or want anymore, I don't see my self as a billboard with a need to advertise.
What I mean by that is, excessive piercing or tats are read by others as boojum said a need or desperate for attention.
Or as others said, things we think we want at a young age that we regret later in life.
Tats to me advertise feelings, belonging, likes and dislikes. I don't have bumper stickers on my car for the same reason. You want to know who or what I'm about invest some time.
And excessive piercings especially on people over 30, for what ever reason I read as a sexual thing. I normally see the person as into at least lite BDSM or alt sexual activities. I've seldom been wrong with those I've gotten to know.
If that's what you want then go for it. As with tats I want the person to invest some time in getting to know me, not just assume what I like. Although I have found it can be an ice breaker when wondering if a person likes a certain life style or not.
