When I see someone with multiple facial piercings, I see someone who is desperate for attention, desperate to prove that they're very different to boring straight-edge people and desperate to belong to a particular subculture. But really it's all about "Look at MEEEEE!" and fundamentally not all that different to a three-year-old having a melt-down because they haven't been getting the attention they crave from Mommy and Daddy.
Still, it's their body, and they can fuck it up and uglify it however they choose.
The only good thing about piercings (apart from the ridiculous gauging thing) is that they disappear if unused - assuming they never get so infected that the subcutaneous level of the skin is damaged. Facial tattoos are a completely different level of attention-seeking stupidity and short-sightedness.
You can still see a dent where they used to have them. In another life when I went to concerts I used to scan older people’s faces looking for the tell-tale dots around their mouths and noses.
