What are the things have you done that you regret?

There haven't been many comments on the previous poll, but several votes for regretting things you have done. What are they? In order to respect your anonymity and privacy I will ask you to vote on the closest reason. I'm sorry that I can't think of other poll choices to add.

  • I had panic attacks most of my life and I really let it hold me back. I wish Id have gotten an office job or working with computers right out of high school--a job that has office hours and weekends and holidays off and pays decently.

I regret that I let depression interfere with the relationship with my son when he was a baby, I didn't really enjoy that time and I feel guilty about that all the time.
I regret that Im in my 30s and still work retail and don't feel like I am capable of much else :(
I regret the way I treated my first boyfriend who was a nice guy, he was in love with me and I played mental games, but I have never done that since.
I regret not getting braces in my teens and having to deal with Invisalign now!
    That's pretty much it.

  • I would have to say my biggest regrets are:
    - Not living up to my full potential in high school. I could have done so much better than I did, but had things going on such as finally getting attention from boys and I let petty things interfere. I skipped classes and didn't seem to care about anything but popularity and being liked (even though due to my actions I don't feel I was necessarily popular or liked by most). I did end up going to college and I have a good job now, but I know I could have excelled and went on to be in an even better career had I been emotionally stable.
    - Letting myself be taken advantage of and sleeping with people for the wrong reasons (because I didn't know what it felt like to have people paying attention to me in that way). I have learned from it but between the ages of 15 - 17, I shudder looking back on it and feel disgusted with myself.

  • Predominantly, they're interpersonal regrets, including family. Things I didn't say, things I wish I had said or done.

I have one or two career and academic regrets too. Those ones were regrettable because I subjected myself to an unpleasant situation for too long.

  • The only things I regret have been things I did on accident that I wish didn't happen. I never regret things I do on purpose.
