What are some songs you’d recommend me?

I'm just really bored and have nothing else to do. I’d appreciate if they were songs from musicals or songs that kind of follow a storyline, but I'm open to any genre and style, meaning that I am open to any existing song. (EXCEPT REGGAETON!)

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Fort Minor is a rap group that has a few songs that follow a story such as "Kenji" and "Slip out the Back". I also like Brass Goggles by Steam Powered Giraffe.

The music from the musical "Tommy" by The Who, the film "Yellow Submarine" by The Beatles.

Daft Punk's Discovery album is a gem of mine and the soundtrack was used to accompany a film called Interstellar 5555 but I'm not too sure how well the story of the album and the movie gel tbh. Definitely give all of these a shot, though

Maybe "Hairspray"? I only know the modern version with Amanda Bynes and Queen Latifah, though

Addendum (some NSFW content!) : The Beatles have lots of songs which tell stories. Rocky Racoon and Eleanor Rigby spring to mind.

Liverpool, Seek A Sound So Rare and Babydoll by Akira The Don

Dance With The Devil by Immortal Technique

Solitude Standing by Suzanne Vega (the song itself as well as the album). Calypso, Wooden Horse, Marlene On The Wall

They Say You Won't Come Back and/or Get Off Easy by Breathe Carolina

Depending on how short and/or HAHAHA HERPADERP RANDOM you are willing to go for your stories: Storytime, Bruja De Los Jaime, Magic Bone, Fire In The Kitchen, Striped Pajamas, Place Disclaimer Here, QY10 by The Left Rights.
Perhaps they're more short scenes than stories but in my mind they totally count!

Ernie The Fastest Milkman In The West

The Charabanc Trip, The Yodelling Wanker, My Grandad John, No No No, Mabel (All Of These Things Are Soul) by Ivor Biggun

If you really want a chilling story within a song then I'd recommend this album: "a thousand suns" by linkin park

Its a concept album dealing with human fears such as nuclear warfare.

I have not come across an album thats so beautifully conceptualized and written as this one

songs from musicals obviously you have the more popular ones-
    Be More Chill
    Heathers
    Hamilton
    Dear Evan Hansen
    The Book of Mormon

And ones I liked not as popular but popular-
    Little Shop of Horrors
    Ultimate Storytime

A more story line like album I like is The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance.

Look up Poppy on youtube. her songs have a story. First listen to Computer Boy and then Software Upgrade is the sequel to that. You might not like it because Poppy is not for everybody but tell me what you think. My favorite song at the moment is Bleach Blonde Baby by Poppy.

Look up “Guns Gold and Control” by Poppy. It’s so beautiful. My new favorite song at the moment :) I’m so surprised you know who Poppy is. I never meet Poppy fans unless it’s on her channel or Poppy.church. She’s also going on her second tour. The tickets are only $20. You should go if she’s coming to your town. The closest she’s coming to me is 4 hours away again so I’m going to miss her second tour as well as her first tour.

I don't think she's coming to Spain!I wish she would, but... I highly doubt it. I just listened to "Guns Gold and Control", as you told me. It's amazing! I also never meet any Poppy fans, so it's kinda surprising for me too; but it's great, because people usually tell me that she's weird, so it's nice to see someone that likes her too.

I'm so curious! Have you listened to it?

I'm loving every minute of it - again! I first listened to it when I was around your age (probably 2 years younger) and I've brought this with me for all these years! Hope you enjoy and take it with you, florecilla!

Bayside. Their album "Vacancy" was written while the singer was going through a divorce. It really captures the feelings of the end of a relationship and really hits all 5 stages of grief.
