  • I hear Gamestop is popular..

I don't know much about investing (so here's a big grain of salt for you), but from what I understand, don't invest money in random stocks like that that you aren't prepared to lose. Depending on how disposable your income is and what your goals are with it, maybe do some research on the topic before you start throwing it around willy nilly. Do you have a retirement account?

At least maybe ask this someplace like r/personalfinance.

    • Im a truck driver by trade I have decent income to spare. I decided to invest a good bit in automated vehicle companies. I figured if automated vehicles replace my job I will become rich. Worst case scenerio is I get to keep my job.

Gamestop may be passed the point of investing for me. I dont trust the robinhood guy since he shut down buying of the stock and left open trading. He probably was bribed by hedge fund ppl and is screwing over small investors.

      • Yeah I was kinda kidding about Gamestop. Although I get the impression what's going on with that is less about the Robinhood guys wanting to screw people over and more about their business not being built for this kind of scenario, so they are having to comply with certain things they didn't expect.

Anyway it's your money, so spend away I guess. Like I was saying, it's my personal opinion that a retirement account is the best place to put any extra money first. There's a site called calculator.net which has a page that will calculate the compounding interest for you.. it's a mind blower. But if you already have all your bases covered, then might as well do what you want. Hope you get lucky with it.

      • Yet it is still holding and the hedge funds are still out billions of dollars. Game stock shouldn't be invested for the traditional gain in money that stocks are there for. Buying gamestop is for screwing over hedge funds specifically, if you make money than it was a happy coincidence.
