What’s “biggest tip” from a customer you’ve ever seen someone else get?

My friend delivers pizzas, he said someone tipped him 30 bucks!!! What about you? What’s biggest tip you’ve ever gotten from a customer or biggest tip you’ve ever seen somebody give?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

At Christmas time, a popular local restaurant had a party of 12 so 2 waitresses covered it. The man hosting was grieving his wife and wanted to show extra kindness because his wife loved Christmas so much and the spirit of giving, so he gave each girl a $1,000 tip.

I got $82 from a man in a flash convertible when I was working in a drive thru bottle shop once. He handed it to me like it was loose change. He was slick and rich

I tip well if the service deserves it.
I do not tip ANYONE for simply doing their job.
My best tips have been several times the average.
Im not rich, but if the service is good I tip well.
    That said.
If the service is poor, dont expect a tip.

I've offered a tip of $300 on several occasions. This is the largest amount that I've physically watched being tipped, but a waitress told me that she was once tipped $15,000 by a man who was aware that she had recently lost both her home and her mother in a fire.

I sometimes like to give the biggest tip of a person's shift, so they go home happy. I was taking the train to a city for business fairly often, and stopping at the same bar and restaurant before going home, as it was upstairs from the train station. Got to know a few of the bartenders and their stories, some of which were very sad and hard-luck.

Sitting for an early dinner one afternoon, the sweet, fit-bodied, beautiful bartender girl (ex-bf, and she had two kids) was saying how her shift sucked, but, one guy gave her a $90 tip. This was around the holidays, and I told her "I can do better..I have to win this one". She kept saying no, you don't have to, etc, but I could tell she was waiting to see how much I'd do.

Paying my bill, I wrote in $150, then scratched it out, and wrote $300, leaving it on the bar as I put my coat on and started to walk out. She saw it, chased after me, gave me a huge, long hug, and told me I made her Christmas. That's why I do things like that, not to show off money. To make people happy.

I’ve never seen someone give one at all. I don’t care for other people’s interactions when I’m hungry, so I am not paying attention
