A couple of years ago I bought an exotic italian sports saloon. It was a very good year and I bought a couple of homes, which were expensive but seemed sensible and not extravagant, and I got this car as a treat.
The thrill was short-lived. The gearbox was an awful mess, almost giving me whiplash in city driving, and it is forever in the shop for some little thing.The switches and controls were maddening after a very short time. I was repeatedly stopped by the police just so they could look at the car and flirt with me. I was afraid to park it anywhere for fear it would be vandalized (the first week someone scratched a door). And my father and brother convinced me that the car would make me a target for kidnapping.
Now I rarely drive it and don't even keep it at my house. I alternate between a Prius I hate and a ghastly ugly BMW. I would like to get rid of all three but nothing new is appealing.
