More specifically, you're in a public restroom and it's got say, 6 stalls, the bathroom is empty except for you doing your pooping business, then you hear another person enter the restroom and they choose to go in the stall right next to you despite all other stalls being empty, weird or not weird?

What I really hate is when someone poops next to me and we're not even in a restroom.
Be thankful that they did not decide to join you in your stall...
Otherwise, totally normal.
I note that the stall next to you might just be the cleanest choice available. I do look and chose the best option if there are issues in other stalls.
But say, as a hypothetical, all toilets are perfectly clean, would you see it as odd to pick the toilet next to someone as apposed to one a few doors down? If so, to what exact level of oddness do you place this at?
Cleanliness is 1st criteria of mine. Functional door next, availability of toilet paper, working coat hook in the late fall - mid spring, place to put my cell phone if I'm driving rideshare and have the app on (I can accept a ride while in the bathroom).
While I do tend to provide space from other guests - if possible. That's at the end of my list... and it's not uncommon for me to end up next to someone in an otherwise uncrowded public restroom.
I dont do number 2 in public but if i did i'd be heading straight for that handicap stall.
If they're pooping and I'm not, I feel this great catharsis (as someone else here has alluded to) that it is them making the embarrassing noises and smells, and not me.
It would be kinda cool though to go to the bathroom with one of my close colleague-friends and both be pooping at the same time because then we would be able to make a joke about it and have a laugh. You really are friends when you can poop at the same time and acknowledge it.
Well, there's always the opportunity for some anonymous humor. Let out loud pathetic groans, then change to rude sounds of relief after the plop. Remember that you're selling catharsis.
Listening to all this anal drama is certainly something that IIN users would totally unphased by; it's no big deal really.
The concept of using a public toilet seems weird to me. Haven’t used one in a year.
When it comes to public restrooms I always look for the cleanest stall, and I don't waste time wondering about what other people are thinking about what stall I've chosen!
I wouldn’t care. It’s a toilet. People shit next to each other in there every day. Grow up.
Although you mostly wouldn't care, don't you think naturally you would just pick a stall not next to someone if given the option? If even just subconsciously? It doesn't have to be a big deal but just an ever so slight inclination.
No. It’s a public toilet, if you’re offended by faeces you’re gonna have a bad time.
I'm certainly not offended. More so curious on how others may view such a scenario, if they have any sort of registry of this as an odd thing or not, to even the slightest of degrees.
