Weight-loss is addictive

OMG! I think I have a problem. I am OBSESSED with losing weight and being super skinny. I look at models on TV and find them so hot. I mean, part of me is like ewwww look at their bones, and then part of me is like that's hot, that's how I wanna look!
I am a 28 year old female, about 5'8" and now weight around 120 lbs. I was around 150 at the start of the year. I'm just SO obsessed with losing weight! It's crazy.
I used to be a size 11, and now I can fit into some size 3 clothes! I wanna get down to size 1 or even zero.
You can now see my bones. My hips bones stick out, along with my ribs and spine. People are telling me I'm getting too thin, but I absolutely LOVE looking this way! And I wanna continue to lose more weight. Is there something totally wrong with me?? Does anyone else find super-thin people attractive?

I think you're seeing yourself get thinner and therefor you're continuing the "routine" and still dieting. I'm 5'8, 27 yrs old, and I know what 120lbs looks like because I've been there. Hell, I developed an eating disorder when I was 20 yrs old and got down to a sick weight of 87lbs! But! I know that 120 is still too skinny. You fall in the abnormal category on the BMI scale. You are going to have health risks with being too thin (it happens at both ends of the weight spectrum). Plus, those models do not necessarily love their lives and, do you think any man wants to pound a bag of bones? No. Most guys want a valuptuous(?) woman...with tits and ass. If you're losing either of these please please please get out of your diet routine! Trust me - no one wants to be with a skeleton. And models do not live glamorous lives - there's pressure, eating disorders, and drugs that hollywood or whoever doesn't tell you about. You have to know by now that all media show you want they want to show you - not the ugly truth behind it.

    • Thanks for the advice. Wow, 87lbs!? That's scary. That's my mom's weight, but she's 5'0" so it's not nearly as bad. Anyway yeah I have been told I'm losing my butt, and I went down a whole cup size in the chest :( So I think it's time to start eating regularly again. Though I'm still gonna exercise cause that's important, no matter what! Thanks again, and have a great day :)

That's true. Why should you care? Just please don't get defensive or butthurt when you are wondering why guys look at your curvatious friend more than they do you. Plus, there is model thin and natural thin - big difference.

You are like my twin,i'm totally crazy about loosing weight,i freak out when i see fat foods, tehre's no way i will eat anything fatty no matter how yummy it looks and i'm on laxatives because i want to loose even more weight.I find those dead skinny models really hot and i want to be soo skinny that i don't care what the people around me think of it.As a result,i suffered from anaemia twice and my hair started thinning,my skin was very bad and i constantly felt tired and agressive so please watch out.Atleast make sure you take a multivitamin and get all the essential nutrients your body needs.tc xox

    This isn't normal, dear..
This actually sounds like the beginning to anorexia..
You can continue exercising and eating healthy, but don't overdue it. I can understand wanting be as skinny as the models you see, I feel the same way.. basically all I can say is that confidence is key and appearance isn't everything.
    Best wishes <3

You DO know that models aren't real. They live freak lives and the Photos? Photoshop, not even THEY actually look like the pictures.
And have freak tastes, because noone else like bones

I think thin is Sooo super sexy. My wife is 5'0" and 90lbs, I think she has the perfect body. If you get to the point were your ribs are showing badly then you are too thin. But I think that 120 and 5'8" is actually average for a woman. In fact if you look it up you are right at the line for average. Take a multi vitamin and mineral supplement and eat balanced healthy meals at least. That way at least even though you will be thin you will still be giving your body the nutrition it needs. Sexy mama!

I don't think there is anything wrong with you--you just want to look attractive. 120 lbs doesn't seem unreasonable to me for a female who is 5' 8". And, I'm one of those men who is attracted to thin women--not necessarily super-thin, but thin.

I agree with Galaxy500 that you should remain healthy and not develop eating disorders. Being healthy is an important part of being attractive. Such health risks are not the result of being underweight or overweight, but instead are the result of the particular diet.

Humans are naturally thin and healthy, if they eat the right food. The problem is that most nutritionists and health "experts" have been pushing a low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet for the last 30-50 years. This is *not* healthy, and in the majority of individuals, results in weight gain. If you combine this with a "low-calorie" diet, that makes things even worse, as the end result is malnutrition.

I don't know what kind of diet you've been on, but I would suggest you research *low-carbohydrate* nutrition. On a low-carb, high-fat diet, you will remain naturally thin and healthy. I've been on such a diet for 5 years. I'm male, around 145-150 lbs, and 5' 9".

    @Galaxy500
i'm naturally thin due to a fast emtobolism and do you think models care about what guys think hell no to be a model you have to have some pretty think skin because they take critizem all the time your to short your to tall to skinny to fat so it's not easy.i'm happy with the way i am yes i will gain weight but anyone who meets me is just going to have to accept me the way i am. and way the hell should any woman care about what slimy men have to say about her they do not have the right to jugde a women based on her body they have no right to opion on it . and if a guy feels the need to comment on someones weight that proves that they are shollow and jugdemental.
