When we were kids we bred Guinea pigs, and my sister had a business selling them to local pet stores in Houston when she was nine years old! We stopped when we found out that people used them as food for snakes.
I'm really sorry kids. The world could be such a nice place. Snakes could eat crickets. Homes could be filled with love. But, the warm glow of happiness just doesn't go everywhere. *sigh*
Sounds like you guys had a good market niche and abandoned it for a silly reason.
Snakes keep the critter population in check, as do cats. Critters are not said to "breed like rabbits" for no reason. They will proliferate in huge numbers if predators do not control their populations.
Caring for animals only if they are cute and cuddly is really despicable.
Reminds me of some of the trucks I would see in my town. Some sold live chickens, some sold produce, and others sold piraguas.
For consumption? Or for pets? Really doesn’t matter after you sell them. Welp I guess I’m having Peruvian tonight!
