    Very difficult for me to worship as a god anything that dumps half-eaten rats on my pillow in the middle of the night.

      This is why I'm an advocate of a pampered and spoiled indoor cats. Lots of toys and treats, and a submissive dog to play with. My cat doesn't care about birds and rodents. He's just a cuddle-bug.

      It's their instinct cats were kept around to control rodent population.
