When it was legal where I live, I'd put $20 in, get wasted and leave with $100. You can't gamble welfare. But you can sell it.
I remember back when I first moved over here seeing signs everywhere for "pokies" and I thought... "What the fuck are pokies? Is it a sex thing?"
Once you know what it is it seems obvious but to me it just sounded like a weird name for a brothel
