Imo, If she is aware of how you feel, then yes, she was playing with you by sending that text. People like to have admirers, even if they don't admire them back. It's callous, but lots of people will do it; string others along "innocently" enough so that it's not overt, but just enough to keep them confused or interested. It's just to serve ego and I don't think it's really a conscious action.
Anyway, Forget about her. Or learn to stop liking her so much, which may be difficult or impossible, so it's probably better just to move on.
