Next time don't just swallow. Instead, let it gently pour out of your mouth into a glass. Your glass should have a stem and a tapered bowl. Kinda like a wine glass. This will help directing the aromas into your nose.
Once done, give it a swirl and observe the liquid. Try and inspect it with your eyes. Check the opacity and viscosity of the liquid. Is it muddy? How does the light reflects off of it? Think about it.
Your next step would be using the sense of smell. Try to identify the aroma. Does it smell soft and fruity, or is it pungent and cheesy? Don't waste too much time on this part. A few sniffs should suffice. Try to alternate between small, short sniffs and long, slow sniffs.
Now, ofc, comes the tasting. But before you do so, remember that most bodily fluids are a bit salty to the taste, so take your time. Let your tongue do its job. Fill your mouth with the liquid and swirl your tongue making sure it's fully soaked. Give your tongue time to separate the different textures and tastes before giving judgment. And then swallow.
Now ask yourself, how long it took for the taste to leave you?
There is one crucial step people tend to overlook. Thinking.
Did the liquid taste balanced or out of balance (i.e. too acidic, too sweet)? Did you like the taste? Was the taste unique or unmemorable? Were there any characteristics that shined through and impressed you? And most importantly, do you miss it?
Take your time and think about it.
