From the time I was about 8 to 11 I had a sort of secret relationship(wasn't really a relationship though) with my older brother's friend who was probably 13 to 16. Every time he would stay the night we would mess around. Being so young I thought we were actually together, but looking back on it was more like a 13 year old tricking and 8 year old into doing sexual acts for him. I was just wondering if it counts as molestation because we were both young and I agreed to it at the time.

    When a teenage boy has sex with an eight-year-old? Yeah! That's freaking molestation! And "consent" doesn't figure into it, when the kid is EIGHT years old!

    Yes. That's sexual abuse. But I don't think you can press charges against him because he was 13.

      True, but neither can a 13 year old. Not saying the kid should have done it, but that kid doesn't have nearly the self control that say, an 18 year old does. Young teens do experiment. Now, him continuing that at 16 does right qualify for abuse, cause at that point, he should definitely know better.

    Yes it counts as molestation, he was older than you and he tricked you as well.

    Yeah, I'd say so with a bit of qualification. You were both pretty young. He was more a peer than authority. And I gather you did not feel mistreated at the time. Still, he was a fair bit older. It was secretive. And you now feel manipulated. Does this bother you a lot and do you think it affects you now? Or is it one of those events from the past that you've felt unsettled about & had trouble putting in perspective?
