Was i in the wrong beat someone up over an accident

We have this assigned guy who does plumbing work in our college, he's some young guy, scrawny dude. My girlfriend was taking a bath and the guy walked in on her to redo the sink pipes. He kept saying sorry and left right away but I ended up snatching him up and hitting him in the stomach a few times and he pissed his pants so I let him go.

Was I wrong for that? He should've knocked.

    If he did not know if anyone was in there then yes he should have knocked but have you thought of other possibilities like he may have just come out of there, went to his van to get sometime came back and went in and during that time your girlfriend went in there. Accidents do happen. So yes there is no question that you were in the wrong for what you did. Violence is not ok. You are totally in the wrong.
