Want to skip my period + how do i?

I can't be bothered to menstruate it's a painful nuisance and I'm visiting family soon so do you think that if I just go to bed hungry for a few days I can make it end quicker? I feel like it would work but I just need to know that it's worth it. It's happening soon.
Thanks sisters of isitnormal x

Get a hormonal IUD or start hormonal birth control and don't take the placebos. Both options are totally reversible and skipping your period doesn't harm your body.

Lol I don’t think it will work.

I'm on a birth control pill that prevents me from having periods. You can choose when to skip them, or to skip them entirely. Some debate that skipping them completely is unhealthy, but they were so awful for me that I do not care.

    • I do not trust those spooky ovary biscuits. Not at all. But it does sound liberating also. Why were yours that bad? :(

I would get them at least twice a month and they were so heavy I had to wear three pads at a time and would still bleed through even if I changed them frequently, and I had to change them so much I actually had to miss school when I had them because you know how teachers can be about bathroom breaks. I would also feel very lightheaded and sick.

I'm very glad I no longer have to deal with it! The pill has been wonderful for me.

I think there are certain types of birth control that can give less monthly cycles.

My professional opinion on this matter is that it will definitely work and it will also be good for the figure.
You should definitely starve yourself and I can't think of literally one bad side effect it could have on your body or spiritual wellbeing.

    • It is true that it may be unhealthy, but as it is temporary, I think it may be ok, and I can go back to eating normally again in a week or so. It is risky though, have you tried it yourself?

    Have unprotected sex in advance.

As far as I know, not eating has to be for quite a long period before it affects a woman's periods.

A much easier way, which has been known for a least 50 years to my knowledge, is to take the birth control pill without a break. Being decades past needing birth control, I don't know if it works with the newer lower dosage pills but it certainly used to work with the older high dosage ones. I'm going back to the 1960's, when it was quite common for women to do this so they weren't bleeding on their wedding day or during the honeymoon, and it was also done by athletes facing competitions.

It's quite healthy to miss periods: the period you have while on birth control pills is only a withdrawal bleed anyway, not a true period.

And when she finally decides to have a kid(s) won't that prolonged use of the meds affect the health of her ovaries and consequently the health of her offspring?

As far as I know it has no impact at all. I was o various hormonal contraceptives for about 12 years and then had no problems conceiving lots of healthy children.

I don't know if any research has been done into this possibility, but if there has I haven't heard of it. If you have, please share it.

I was on the old high dose pill for about 10 years way way back when it first became available in the early 1960's and had no trouble conceiving when I went off it, in fact I didn't even have a real period before I became pregnant. I knew other women who had the same experience.

As to longterm effects, I've had none and I'm now in my early 70s. I did have side effects from the old high dose pill, which in those days used to be put down to being "all in the mind", but as far as I know the low dose ones don't usually have those effects.

When you think about it, in the past women had far more children and therefore fewer periods and they also breastfed for long periods, which can prevent ovulation, so missing some periods is unlikely to be harmful and in fact may be beneficial.

Dead-azz, just go for a lot of walks (3-5 miles), workout a lot, drink a lot of water, daily, fasting optional (less optional if you're over-weight thus can stand to lose a few) you will reduce your period by at least 50% unless you have a physical illness related to it. Any one of these methods is considered completely normal (unless you dabble in mental illness), so adjust intensity to your desired results. But, this sounds more like a cry for help so I doubt you will take the disciplined route.

Depending on how it affects you, as it’s been different for me a few times, try plan b. It may bring your period faster so you can have it before you go out of town. My sister did it for her wedding. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm a guy so what I know about female menstruation can be written on the back of a postage stamp in felt tip...

However, I'd just like to say how interesting it is, to me at least, that not eating anything can apparently reduce a woman's period length. Is that legit or is that a lie meant to make people feel gullible? Because if it's the latter I'd fall for it hook line and sinker.

Don't downvote me please, I'm just seeking some education on something I know very little about.

In the meantime, here's an article I found: https://www.runnersworld.com/health-injuries/a20855296/what-runners-need-to-know-about-missing-their-periods/?fbclid=IwAR1nikUan1t4WAFad5DujVI9k-wFgoFpBLYavqNkCjwo4vaCbDXSp7L9pWI

It's no lie: starvation, including self imposed anorexia, can certainly stop periods. Women in Nazi concentration camps stopped menstruating after months of near starvation, maybe because a severely undernourished body couldn't carry a fetus to term anyway?

I find it fascinating that female kangaroos re-absorb the fetus in times of drought and also that after wars more males are conceived to eventually even out the balance of sexes. Aint nature mysterious?

Yes it can. A very simplistic way to look at it is this: periods happen when your body thinks it is a good time to make babies. Hence why illness, starvation and stress all affect your cycle.

When I was eating a 1200 calorie diet I didn’t have a period for three months and probably would’ve gone longer if I didn’t quit the diet.

My goal weight was 88lbs and I liked the skinny look but I only got down to 92lbs before I quit the diet and put a bit of weight back on so now I’m 96lbs.

I wasn’t doing it to hurt myself, it was purely an aesthetic goal. But I accept that I set myself a pretty unrealistic weight goal.

Certain medications. You can always upbyour t. At any rate it all has to do with your hormones. If i recall right getting the tubes tied fixes that but im probably wrong on that. Either way its dangerous and has life long consequences to get force a period to stop
