I say any age can vote. But you must first pass a test showing you understand where the candidates stand on the issues. So many Americans vote for D or R just because they always have or that's what their family does.
Very few children, if any, would be able to pass that test. I know grown women who work high paying jobs who just throw up their hands regarding politics. You pay taxes, well take the time to properly exercise the right given to you to select who makes government decisions regarding those tax dollars.
I do agree with you regarding the 2 party system, it makes voting outside of that seem to be a waste.
Plenty of middle aged people don't know anything about the candidates. That's why Trump, Carson, Clinton and Sanders are in the top 4. The same reason the best we could do in the past 15 years is Obama and W. How sad.
