    • I just feel like I would want to hold off, because I want to see how other people react to the vaccine before I get it. I'm not an anti-vaxxer by any means, but I feel like the vaccine was kinda rushed, and so I just want to wait to see if there are any side effects. I'm grateful though that neither I, nor any members of my immediate family have caught the virus.

A cousin of my mother's in Colombia did catch the virus though, and he was hospitalized for 14 days. When I was young I kinda thought of him as my rich uncle, but he's had a lot of tragedy in his life. I hope he's doing well now!

We did have one big, heartbreaking tragedy in my immediate family over the summer. My sister's toy poodle who is the sweetest, and coolest little guy had a diabetic attack. He was previously undiagnosed, and a very athletic, happy, little guy. He got very sick, and when he went to the animal hospital they did bloodwork, and he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Now my sister, or my mother has to give him insulin shots twice a day, and he is blind. In many ways he is a shadow of his former self, but he's still a sweetheart, and it's really a miracle that he survived. I honestly want to do a YouTube video on diabetes in dogs, and cats, and the importance of getting bloodwork done.

The dog's recent diabetes diagnosis, and sudden blindness has me also becoming more concerned with my mother's health. My mother has type 2 diabetes, I don't think she tests her blood sugar nearly enough, and she wasn't even aware that type 2 diabetes can turn into type 1, or that it can lead to blindness, amputation, coma, or death.

Sorry for the über long response, it's been a long year, and a hard summer around here.
