took several decades to come up with many vaccines, yet covid 19 made in a few months. Lets see how many die from this so called vaccine then decide.

I agree with RoseIsabella's comment about waiting until this has proven likely safe.

This is not the normal vaccine approval process with takes a minimum of 6 months of data after phase III trials are over for each population segment to look for adverse reactions.

The "Emergency" approval rules for a Covid-19 Vaccine is based on just 2 months after Phase III trials for a population group, according the the news published weeks ago from the CDC.

While I hope it works; lots of poeople could end up with serious side effects (including death). There has been a somewhat recent example of that when I understand a French developed vaccine was use in The Philippines for a certain disease outbreak I think 5 years ago that turned out to have a significant death rate for younger people, and left many more with life long significant health issues.

There are reasons that a normal vaccine development takes at least 4 years (and some diseases have had vaccines under development for decades that have never passed the safety standards).

So, I'm in no rush to use an improperly safety tested vaccine.

  • Ive already had it so ill wait until people who are more at risk get theirs. Im sure they will give it to people at higher risk of death get it first, like people in nursing homes and those with lung problems.

A vaccine they've had to put together quickly... I don't think so. They had to be quick with the swine flu vaccine as well and it gave people narcolepsy even if a huge amount didn't get it, it was bad enough how many did. I'll wait. Plus from what i've heard about the virus having changed again it's not even certain this vaccine will work fully.

Antivax to death! I've no reason to trust doctors and pharma industry, they've compromised their integrity and credibility beyond any benefit of doubt.

It's my personal experience with many doctors for various issues. I can hardly recall a single one who may have helped a little for something, a couple who did harm and the majority who at least didn't. So I can confidently rule out the medical guild as incompetent and inefficient. Add to this the commercial profit-first model both pharma industry, hospitals and most individual med professionals follow instead of the Hypocrates oath and you can have a picture that's not beautiful. Better doubt than trust, especially those whose primary interest is in your money..

I'll be getting it because I am not selfish and want to protect the people I care about. Any medication you have has risks but that doesn't stop people getting their regular prescriptions.

      • It is a mild disease if you are healthy, rest and take anti fever meds for a week. Older and infirm people are at risk for complications (covid pneumonia), and may require a hospital stay.
The common symptoms are tiredness, mild to moderate fever and dry cough.

Waiting a little seems better, in addition to avoiding the crowding at the beginning, you can also observe the results and newly side effects data that will appear with the increase of vaccinated people.

I mean given the number of random medically untested research chemicals Ive put into my body you'd think Id be fine with it but I don't trust one thing about covid, the government, or their slapdash thrown together vaccine. Have fun with that.

Im not saying its a total hoax, there's something making people sick. The problem is this is American politics which means each side has to take opposing arguments to create political division. Not like I believe its fake per se, but its being exaggerated and used to justify things they wanted to do anyway. Cases are rising because they're doing hundreds of thousands of tests per day now and catching people who wouldnt of gotten tested months ago.

That everyone is so obsessed about numbers pisses me off too. In the media all day, 24/7 you hear nothing else than cases here, cases there. If they are doing it as part of a global agenda or simply, because fear sells better, I don't know. But the fact is, you could test one million men on pregnancy and would also get 20.000 - 30.000 positive results back.

Theyve got half of people glued to the TV watching graphs and freaking out and the other half going out and doing whatever they want because endless lockdowns are destroying their lives and they dont care about covid anymore.

Honestly I think this is a war against independently owned buisiness. They'll have everyone forced to work at amazon in a year or two.

If people called 'experts' by the media say it's safe, then I will get it! Why would I think for myself? I'm not an 'expert'! I hope the media and the researchers and think tanks tell me what to do more! I'm not a antivaxxer karen facebooker!! Please don't call me that!

I'm assuming you mean "IF" the vaccine is available soon? I'm not aware there's any vaccine which will be available soon, except in the minds of some deluded individuals.

WHEN there's one available I'll certainly take it, just as I have the ordinary flu injection every year, because I'm very high risk. I have trust that in my country (Australia) no vaccine will be made available until its gone through the usual protocols and as far as I know that will not be soon.

    • Pfizers vaccine may be available soon.

Maybe Australia is different with what vaccine will be used but all side effects from any vaccine will not be known for quite sometime

From what I read, the Pfizer vaccine is in two doses and needs to be kept cold meaning that the only way to get it is in the hospital. Knowing that, I'm going to say nope, I wont get it. Even if they somehow make the vaccine free, the hospital will charge a truckload of money for every other little service. Even with insurance, that ain't worth it to me. XD

I just feel like I would want to hold off, because I want to see how other people react to the vaccine before I get it. I'm not an anti-vaxxer by any means, but I feel like the vaccine was kinda rushed, and so I just want to wait to see if there are any side effects. I'm grateful though that neither I, nor any members of my immediate family have caught the virus.

A cousin of my mother's in Colombia did catch the virus though, and he was hospitalized for 14 days. When I was young I kinda thought of him as my rich uncle, but he's had a lot of tragedy in his life. I hope he's doing well now!

We did have one big, heartbreaking tragedy in my immediate family over the summer. My sister's toy poodle who is the sweetest, and coolest little guy had a diabetic attack. He was previously undiagnosed, and a very athletic, happy, little guy. He got very sick, and when he went to the animal hospital they did bloodwork, and he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Now my sister, or my mother has to give him insulin shots twice a day, and he is blind. In many ways he is a shadow of his former self, but he's still a sweetheart, and it's really a miracle that he survived. I honestly want to do a YouTube video on diabetes in dogs, and cats, and the importance of getting bloodwork done.

The dog's recent diabetes diagnosis, and sudden blindness has me also becoming more concerned with my mother's health. My mother has type 2 diabetes, I don't think she tests her blood sugar nearly enough, and she wasn't even aware that type 2 diabetes can turn into type 1, or that it can lead to blindness, amputation, coma, or death.

Sorry for the über long response, it's been a long year, and a hard summer around here.

I'll wait a while, but only because in my country it's being rolled out on a needs basis, and I'm not high risk.

I'm not overly bothered about having it. I was probably never going to die of covid anyway, unless it's still doing the rounds when I'm in my 80s. So I'm happy to let the virologists decide how best to protect the population as a whole, and get my vaccine when they say it's best. Here's hoping my government are actually listening to these experts when they choose how to roll it out... You can never be too sure about that...

  • Don't they legally have to tell us all the side effects? FDA still has protocols in place for drug testing, right?

What I heard is that they're gonna make you get some special ID or implant to get the vaccine

      • The worst one is dihydrogen monoxide

There's also fluoride which may help teeth but has other side effects

        I always suggest filtering water

But you can't take out this dihydrogen monoxide, it's super lethal (first two letters phonetically say die) and it's literally infected the entire drinking supply of the world. Only a matter of time until we're all zombies
