I'd say so yeah. Its just that my only one good friend i have hes a computer programmer and he told me its a good thing to always clear the cache out and i always do its just a habit i have, and i've done it before he told me i just asked him if he ever clears his out and he does too.
Do you know what type of cache he's referring to? There are many types. Your web browser caches pages locally, your memory chips have a cache, parts of your hard disk are often cached.
In this case, though, it's a server cache and not something you have any control over (unless you've written an application for that server or are an admin). When servers cache data, there's a risk they can return out of date data (which is a good reason for clearing the cache periodically). The period you clear the cache is a trade-off between memory use, increased speed of serving pages, and chances of the page being out of date. Longer refresh = faster server but more out of date pages. Slower refresh = opposite.
no i don't know what kind he was referring to, but i clear all that out above not any servers tho. i get what your saying i have had both of those problems with pages going on other websites.
? what would you do clear it out or leave it on yours, to me theirs just no point in leaving it on my computer.
I *could* clear mine out more often now because I have faster broadband. When I had slower broadband, browsing the web was a pain at the best of times and the cache really helped. I mean, it's not often the IIN logo changes so why should I download it afresh every time I come to the site? And even if it did change and I didn't notice for a few hours (or even days), it's no biggie to me.
Usernames always change to reflect the current color of a user, why?
