Unpopular opinion : I dont understand why people tip waiters

I never tip unless I feel they really deserve it - and even then, I don't tip the customary 15% automatically. I tip the amount I feel they've earned.

If they were lazy or rude, I become a dick and leave them a nickel instead of just nothing. That way it's very clear that I'm dissatisfied with my service.
