I don't think people are stupid for voting I just find it childish that both sides would rather indulge in their ideologies rather then making the nation more unified.
"Free" countries aren't free by american standards. Freedom of speech is the most important freedom and even canada a "free" state is fining a COMEDIAN 35k for making an offensive joke.
As in America is the gold standard in human freedoms being the freest nation so far. Everyone gets a single vote and their votes tell their electoral college people who to vote for. This is to prevent a mob mentality rule. You dont want city foke telling how farmers get their job done and vice versa.

Well america does hold the market in freedom so being just divided by party isnt that bad. I mean the army fights for america not a political side.

It's clearly not freedom if nobody is satisfied and the radicals hold the keys.
The democrats won't change their course and the republicans are no different.
As for the military it's clear that the lean more republican in terms of votes which is also a problem.
The fact that the military is political I'd have the same issue of the leaned democrat.
The Republican Party tends to kiss ass really good when it comes to the military so it's clear that the military would like them.
If the democrats kissed as it would be the same thing.
I personally feel that the military shouldn't be involved with politics at all but the clearly are.
